They came to Joey with some design ideas for a kauri kitchen island as a centrepiece for a new hard plywood kitchen with kauri benchtops, which they would also commission Kingpost to make.  

This was a classic kiwi beachside villa where little lined up nor was particularly level, leading to some head-scratching for Joey in order to make a flush fit.

• Kingpost Timberworks set about designing the kauri kitchen island which was nicely detailed and equipped with wheels, so it could be wheeled out to the deck when clients were entertaining.
• Measuring up for the new kitchen and making the kauri benchtops was completed. 
• Installation proved a little more challenging but Joey made it work and fit around unlevel windows and walls.  Leaving it looking as if it belonged there entirely.
• The entire process took about four weeks from the start of the build.
